Salman Dar has joined Apple as Head of Government Affairs for Pakistan, taking responsibility for the company’s engagement with government institutions, regulators, policymakers and other key stakeholders in the country.
Dar brings experience from Pakistan’s technology and IT industry to the new role. He previously co-founded ITROOS and served as its CEO, where he was involved in the technology sector and business development.
His professional background also includes work with the Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA). Dar has served on the association’s Central Executive Committee and participated in several policy and governance committees.
In addition to his industry experience, Dar is a member of the Industry Academia Board at Air University, contributing to engagement between the technology industry and academic institutions.
His appointment comes as technology companies continue to engage with policymakers on issues related to the digital economy, regulation, technology investment and the wider IT sector.
Dar holds an MSc in Computer Science from Quaid-e-Azam University and an MBA in IT Management from the International Islamic University, Islamabad.
In his new position at Apple, he will be responsible for managing the company’s government affairs activities in Pakistan and strengthening engagement with relevant public-sector and industry stakeholders.
The appointment adds another experienced figure from Pakistan’s technology sector to Apple’s government affairs operations in the country.
