Inzamam ul Haq Reveals How Mohammad Amir Can Make a Comeback in Pakistan Team

During the announcement of Pakistan’s 15-player squad for the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, Inzamam-ul-Haq, the chief selector, discussed the potential for retired fast bowler Mohammad Amir to make a comeback to the team.

Inzamam-ul-Haq mentioned that if Mohammad Amir performs well in domestic cricket and demonstrates his commitment and passion for the game, there is a possibility for him to be considered for selection in the future.

Inzamam-ul-Haq emphasized the importance of consistent performances and a positive attitude as key factors in earning a place in the national team. While there is no guarantee of a comeback, Inzamam-ul-Haq’s comments suggest that Mohammad Amir can potentially make a return if he meets the necessary criteria and proves himself in domestic cricket.

During a press conference in Lahore, Inzamam-ul-Haq clarified that Mohammad Amir was not included in the squad due to his retirement from international cricket. Inzamam stated that if Amir demonstrates exceptional performance in domestic cricket, the selectors will consider him for future selection.

Amir retired from international cricket in 2020 but has been playing in franchise cricket. There is speculation about his potential return to the Pakistan squad for the World Cup 2023 as a replacement for Naseem Shah.
