Wahab Riaz Emerges as Strongest Contender for Pakistan Chief Selector Job

Former cricketer Wahab Riaz is emerging as a strong candidate for the Chief Selector role, left vacant after Inzamam-ul-Haq’s resignation.

Younis Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz, and Sohail Tanvir, all former Pakistan cricketers, met with Chairman PCB Management Committee Zaka Ashraf at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The meeting aims to find a new chief selector well-versed in the modern demands of cricket. After Inzamam-ul-Haq’s departure, Tauseef Ahmed temporarily handled team selection for the Australia Test tour, but the PCB has now dissolved the interim selection committee led by Tauseef Ahmed.
