A B2B web site for Indonesia and Pakistan has been launched

Mian Aslam Iqbal, the provincial minister for industries and commerce, said on Monday that the Indonesia-Pakistan preferential trade deal has benefited both nations’ private enterprises and has been essential in prioritising Pakistan’s progress. The two countries’ trade and investment levels have not kept up with global trends.

The goal of launching the online portal is to increase trade between the two countries by providing a platform for the two countries’ business communities to exchange information that could lead to increased commercial transactions in fields such as health, pharmaceuticals, food, agriculture, textiles, and furniture.

Aslam Iqbal stated, “The recent agreement between PBIT and the Indonesian Embassy in Pakistan to form a joint working group to facilitate bilateral trade and investments clearly indicates our resolve to strengthen our economic ties.”

According to the Provincial Minister, “we have achieved considerable progress in all main economic indices as a result of the administration of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ambitious economic reforms; Pakistan’s economic growth has increased despite the challenges of Covid-19.” Punjab, he said, has taken the lead in the establishment and colonisation of special economic zones in the region. I encourage both countries’ business community to take advantage of the significant incentives packages available in our special economic zones and export processing zones to establish manufacturing facilities.

Vice President E-Commerce Gateway Pakistan Uzair Nizam stressed the importance of such events in increasing bilateral commerce as well as hosting economic and business activity between the two countries.
