Abu Dhabi Police have introduced a new road alert system. It is aimed at enhancing road safety by providing real time warnings to drivers about traffic accidents and weather conditions. The system utilizes colored lights that will flash across the emirate to alert motorists of potential hazards. Specifically, a combination of blue and red lights will indicate traffic incidents. A yellow light will warn drivers of inclement weather such as fog, rain, or dust storms.
The road alert system, powered by solar energy and internal batteries. It ensures visibility at a distance of 200 meters day and night. This initiative is part of Abu Dhabi Police’s ongoing efforts. To promote safer driving practices and reduce accidents on the roads. It comes on the heels of a recent video released by the police. Moreover, it urges drivers to refrain from tailgating. The footage showcased the consequences of inadequate space between vehicles, emphasizing the risks involved.
To discourage this dangerous behavior, the authorities have implemented a penalty of AED 400 ($108) and assigned four black points on the driver’s license for tailgating offenses. By combining educational campaigns and technological advancements, Abu Dhabi Police aims to foster a culture of responsible driving and ultimately create a safer road environment for everyone.
