According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), none of the Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) in Lahore have achieved the 90 percent trust level in 4G signal strength as required by the license conditions.
During the 20-day QoS survey in Lahore, urban mobility riders were deployed to various markets and hotspot areas on a regular basis from 0800 to 2100 hours.
PTA conducted an independent Quality of Service (QoS) survey of Lahore through a 3rd Party Service Provider from 15th – 28th February 2021 and 3rd – 8th March 2021 in order to measure the performance and service quality of Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) in terms of 2G (GSM), 3G (UMTS/HSPA+, etc.) and 4G (LTE).
During the survey period, mobile handsets were kept in auto-detect mode, i.e., preferably on 4G with a fallback to 3G or 2G depending on network availability in a specific area; as a result, the handsets stayed on the 4G network for the majority of the time.
