Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister, revealed late Thursday that the All Pakistan Petrol Pump Dealers Association (APPPDA) has called off the countrywide strike.
Following approval from the Economic Coordination Committee, the government will now offer a profit margin of 4.4 percent (ECC).
On Thursday, the APPDA began an indefinite statewide strike in protest of the government’s reluctance to enhance its profit margin. Long lines of cars were seen at gas stations in the days leading up to the strike on Wednesday, as locals were terrified.
