Pakistan-India Could Clash 3 Times at 2027 ODI World Cup

Pakistan and India could meet as many as three times at the 2027 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup under the tournament’s new format.

The two rivals are in Group A with Australia, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and one qualifier. Their group-stage match is scheduled for October 10 at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. The 2027 World Cup will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

The top three teams from each group, along with the better-performing fourth-placed team, will advance to the Super 7 stage. Pakistan and India have already been assigned the A3 and A1 positions respectively in the Super 7 seeding system. If both qualify for this stage, they are scheduled to meet again on November 7 in Cape Town.

A third India-Pakistan match could also take place if both teams reach the semi-finals and are drawn to face each other. The top four teams from the Super 7 will qualify for the knockout stage, with the semi-finals scheduled for November 17 and 18.

The tournament will begin on October 2, 2027, while the final is scheduled for November 21 in Johannesburg.
