A Swedish drinks company, founded by brothers of Palestinian heritage in Malmo, Sweden, is experiencing a huge demand for its cola substitutes. Pále_stiné Drinks has become popular quickly, selling four million cans in less than two months. Their cans have unique symbols representing Palestine and a message promoting “freedom for everyone” to spread awareness about Palestine.
The Hassoun brothers plan to start the Safad Foundation in Sweden to use profits from the company for projects in Palestine. They started Pále_stiné Drinks to offer alternatives to big brands.
The company’s success is because more people are buying local alternatives in the Middle East and beyond. Pále_stiné Drinks aims to introduce more products and expand distribution across Europe soon.
