Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos, has once again become the world’s second-richest person, beating Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX.
Bezos’ wealth has grown to $202.4 billion due to a rise in the value of Amazon’s stocks, which increased by $5.4 billion. Meanwhile, Musk’s fortune is now $197.7 billion, with a smaller increase of $11 million.
Earlier in April, Musk briefly became the second wealthiest person after a successful trip to China, where he received approval for his self-driving software. However, he has now fallen back to third place.
Bezos is now very close to becoming the richest person globally, with just a $4.5 billion difference.
These two billionaires have been swapping positions in the global wealth rankings for months. Last month alone, they changed places at least 13 times.
Previously, Musk was mostly in the second spot until March. However, challenges like layoffs and decreased sales at Tesla have made it harder for him to maintain his ranking.
