Americans Airlines Plane Diverted After Passenger Calls Flight Attendant ‘Waiter’

An American Airlines flight had to change its course and remove a passenger from the plane. The passenger was accused of calling a flight attendant a “waiter.”

The flight was heading to Georgetown, Guyana, but it had to turn back and return to New York City’s JFK International Airport just two hours into the journey because of a disruptive passenger.

The passenger, named Joel Ghansham, was sitting in business class and asked a flight attendant for help in putting their bags in the overhead storage. They explained that they had recently undergone surgery. However, the flight attendant refused, saying it wasn’t their responsibility and suggested trying another airline if they were unhappy.
