Apple To Develop Futuristic Sunroof Design For Its First ‘Apple Car’, Patent Approved

In recent news, Apple is rumoured to be working on its own electric vehicle, which is likely to compete with Tesla. Several leaks and rumours concerning the Apple Car have already appeared, providing us with a sneak peek.

According to MotorTrend, the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has now granted the company a new patent for a car sunroof.

The patent application reveals that the sunroof will include a variable opacity glass that will allow for transparency adjustments as needed.

Further, the app also discloses that Apple intends to utilize side windows that open in sequence, as opposed to the regular car’s sunroofs, which are fixed and open all at once.

Moreover, users of the rumoured Apple Car will be able to bring sunlight or outdoor light into the vehicle by simply adjusting the transparency of the window rather than opening the sunroof.

The new sunroof design is also likely to be controlled by CarPlay and Siri.

However, while the new sunroof appears to be unique and has a distinct Apple feel to it, the most important takeaway from this patent is that Apple is, after all, working on its own car.
