Artie Raises $10 Million to Develop App-Less Mobile Games

After raising 10 million USD in funding, a next-gen game developing company called Artie is changing the way users play games.

The need to install applications for it is very time-consuming when it comes to gaming, particularly on smartphones and tablets, as people look to enjoy in-depth video games without constantly filling up the storage of their device.

As they look to strengthen the way mobile games are distributed and played, this is where Artie falls into the fold. The startup began designing virtual reality-based avatars that would act as people’s emotionally intelligent companions. The startup, however, later discovered that in the gaming world there was a much greater issue to solve.

Artie’s founders, Armando Kirwin and Ryan Horrigan noted that numerous game developers, who make endless efforts to improve their users’ apps, are always searching for ways to circumvent the rules and regulations of the Apple App Store. This is not a surprise, as many notable game studios, such as Epic Games, Fortnite’s makers, are opposed to the needless restrictions imposed by Apple.

Therefore, the launch provided a forum for users to play games on their browsers without ever needing to install an app. What really distinguishes Artie from the majority of the companies that are producing games is that Artie embraces Unity, enabling users to play high-resolution games close to what they get from an app that relies heavily on device storage.
