Pakistan is expected to witness a significant shift in weather conditions starting from June 16, as a strong weather system moves across various parts of the country. According to forecasts, several regions may experience a mix of dust storms, gusty and strong winds, thunderstorms, and intermittent rainfall over the coming days.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued warnings indicating the possibility of heavy downpours in certain areas, along with hailstorms in some locations. Authorities have also cautioned that urban flooding may occur in major cities if rainfall intensity increases beyond normal levels. In addition, there is a heightened risk of landslides in northern mountainous regions due to unstable slopes and continuous rainfall.
The affected areas are likely to include a wide geographical spread covering Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, as well as Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Weather conditions may vary from region to region, with some places experiencing short but intense bursts of rain and wind activity, while others may see prolonged periods of unsettled weather.
Residents across the country have been advised to remain alert and closely follow official weather updates issued by relevant authorities. People are encouraged to limit unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions, secure loose objects around homes, and take precautionary measures to protect both life and property. Authorities are also expected to remain on standby to respond to any emergency situations arising from the adverse weather.
