Atlas Honda Limited (ATLH), a motorcycle manufacturer in Pakistan, is projecting its exports to reach approximately $25 million in the fiscal year MY24, which runs from April 1 to March 31. This increase in export revenue is attributed to a recent export order worth $25 million that the company received.
Recognizing the changing global demand, the management of ATLH discussed a shift from motorcycles to scooters and identified two potential export destinations to explore further. Despite this shift, the company remains confident about its domestic sales, having sold 1.1 million units in the previous fiscal year, MY23. They expect to maintain similar sales volumes in the current fiscal year, MY24.
While the demand from rural and remittance customers in the domestic market remains stable, the company faces challenges with urban demand due to inflationary pressures impacting consumer behavior. Nevertheless, ATLH has successfully expanded its production capacity to accommodate up to 1.5 million units per year, ensuring that they are well-prepared to meet both domestic and export demands.
