Babar Azam, who is the world’s best T20 batsman, has been setting new records since his international debut in 2015.
In the T20I World Cup 2021, Pakistan’s all-format captain continued giving his best shot, leading the team to their first semi-final appearance since the T20 World Cup 2012.
Babar set a new record for the most runs scored in a T20 World Cup debut. Matthew Hayden, a former Australian batsman and current Pakistan batting consultant, formerly held the record.
Mohammad Rizwan, who is Babar’s opening partner, has also contributed to Pakistan’s incredible performance in the ongoing tournament. In his first tournament, he also beat Hayden’s record. In the mega tournament, Rizwan scored 281 runs at a 70.25 average in 6 innings.
The two batsmen are also leading the run-scoring rankings in the T20 World Cup 2021, having scored the most runs in both T20Is and T20s this year.
In Pakistan’s next series against Bangladesh and West Indies, they will be keen to score more runs.
