Babar Azam Performs Umrah and Attends Iftar at Masjid Al Haram

Babar Azam, one of Pakistan’s top cricket players and former captain, recently performed Umrah, a religious pilgrimage, and was seen attending iftar at Masjid Al Haram in Makkah. A video shared by his brother, Safeer Azam, showed Babar sitting near the Kaaba, enjoying a date to break his fast. The video was captioned with “Alhamdulillah,” expressing gratitude.

This wasn’t Babar’s first time visiting the holy cities during Ramadan. He had also performed Umrah in 2024, showing his continued devotion and faith. Many fans were pleased to see him taking time for spiritual reflection during the holy month.

However, while Babar remains a beloved figure, his performance on the cricket field has been a topic of discussion. His form in the 50-over matches has been inconsistent, especially since he was moved up to the opening batsman position. Cricket analysts and fans have noted his struggle to maintain a steady performance, leading to mixed opinions about his current role in the team.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s cricket team is preparing for their upcoming tour of New Zealand, which will start on March 16. There will be some changes to the T20 International (T20I) squad for this series. Salman Ali Agha has been named as the new captain, taking over from Mohammad Rizwan. Interestingly, several well-known players, including Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Mohammad Rizwan, have not been included in the T20I squad for this tour.

These changes have sparked curiosity among cricket fans, as they look forward to seeing how the new lineup will perform against New Zealand. Many are eager to find out how the team will manage without some of its biggest stars and whether the new leadership will bring positive results.
