Babar Azam Retains No 1 Spot in Latest ODI Rankings

Despite his underwhelming performance at the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2023, Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, still holds the top spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Batsmen Ranking. Shubman Gill from India is in the second position, trailing Babar Azam by 18 rating points.

The latest update shows movement in the rankings, with South Africa’s Quinton de Kock making significant progress.

Although he began the tournament with two centuries, his dismissal for 20 against the Netherlands led to a collapse in South Africa’s batting, with them losing four wickets for just eight runs.

Despite this, de Kock has climbed three places to third in the ODI batting rankings, surpassing his teammate Rassie van der Dussen, who is now in fourth place.
