Babar Azam Very Close to Becoming Most Successful T201 Captain in History

Babar Azam is on the verge of achieving a big milestone in T20I cricket, where he could surpass Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in total runs scored in the format.

Currently holding the third spot on the list of most runs in T20Is, Babar has scored a total of 3,823 runs so far. With Pakistan gearing up to play seven T20Is against Ireland and England this month, Babar has a golden opportunity to climb up the ladder and overtake both Kohli and Sharma.

To equal Sharma’s tally, Babar needs just 151 runs, and to surpass Kohli, he requires 215 runs more. Today, the Pakistan team embarked on their journey to Dublin, Ireland, from Lahore via Dubai. They are all set to compete in three T20Is in Ireland, followed by four matches in England before heading to the United States for the T20 World Cup.

Following the first T20I against England on May 22, the 18-player squad chosen for the Ireland and England T20Is will be trimmed down to 15 players for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
