On Friday, Pakistan team skipper Babar Azam made a minor field mistake, which in turn won the West Indies team five penalty runs.
As Babar Azam is already on a grand slam of smashing records with his impeccable performance, he used the wicket-keeping gloves to catch a throw behind stumps.
This took place in the 29th over of the respective match.
The on-field umpires deemed Babar’s action as illegal fielding and ultimately awarded West Indies 5 extra runs.
According to the rules of cricket, no field player except the wicket-keeper is allowed to wear gloves as well as external leg guards without the umpire’s consent.
Even though the West Indies were given five extra runs, the Pakistani team won their second consecutive conductive match.
Pakistan won the second ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League match thanks to Muhammad Nawaz’s accurate bowling and half-centuries from Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq.
