Zero Sales Tax For Local and Imported Solar Panels

The fiscal budget for 2022–23 has been unveiled by the Pakistani government, which includes major changes. The medicinal and solar systems’ prices are to be slashed under the new budget.

The finance minister of Pakistan, Miftah Ismail, added while presenting the budget that Pakistan is facing an energy crisis, as the hike in fuel prices has made thermal energy more expensive.

Miftah Ismail added that as eco-friendly energy sources are the best way forward, the government has proposed to cut down the sale taxes on imported as well as locally manufactured solar systems.

He also added that consumers who have less than 200 units of consumption of electricity will be provided with loans on easy installments, which in return will enable them to go towards an eco-friendly way of energy production as well as reduce the load on fossil fuel sources of energy production.
