Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, and Mohammad Rizwan, a wicketkeeper-batsman, attended an event at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to commemorate Youm-e-Takreem-Shuhada-e-Pakistan (Martyrs Reverence Day).
This day is dedicated to honoring and remembering the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of Pakistan and its people.The event was led by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, who served as the chief guest.
Other esteemed guests included former army chief Gen (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, former chairman of the joint chiefs of staff committee Gen (retd) Nadeem Raza, Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman, as well as members of the military, judiciary, educational institutions, and the general public.
Throughout the country, there were various gatherings where prayers were offered, and verses from the Quran were recited to commemorate the occasion.Additionally, several events will take place at the memorials dedicated to the martyrs.
