Babar, Shaheen, and Rizwan’s NOCS Denied by PCB for Global T20 Canada

PCB has decided not to grant NOCs to Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi for the Global T20 event taking place in Canada this month.

This decision was made after the PCB reviewed the busy cricket schedule that Pakistan has from August 2024 to March 2025. During this period, the team will be playing nine ICC World Test Championship matches and participating in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The PCB consulted with the players and the national selection committee before making this decision. They determined that Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi’s presence is very important for the upcoming matches. Pakistan has nine Test matches, 14 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and nine Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) scheduled during this time.

The PCB’s decision is part of their policy to manage player workloads and ensure that players are fully prepared and available for these important games.

In addition, the PCB had also denied Naseem Shah permission to participate in The Hundred cricket tournament for the same reasons.
