Balochistan Could Become Energy Exporter, World Bank

Balochistan has a huge potential for renewable energy, which could turn the province into a major energy exporter. This change could greatly decrease Pakistan’s need to import energy. Achieving a more sustainable energy future seems very possible.

A recent study by the World Bank highlights the advantages of using Balochistan’s renewable energy sources. If harnessed effectively, the province could export excess energy to neighboring provinces or even other countries. This would help stabilize the energy grid and improve the overall energy supply.

Balochistan is rich in solar and wind energy resources. Some areas in the province receive up to 2,500 kWh/m² of solar energy, making it a perfect spot for renewable energy projects. The province’s energy resources match well with the demand for power.

Investing in renewable energy in Balochistan could significantly change the region’s energy situation. It could cut down on electricity losses, enhance financial stability, and potentially reduce annual losses by $500 million by 2028. This shift promises a more promising and sustainable energy future for the province.
