Balochistan gets First Ever Women Police Station after 28 Years

Balochistan’s first female police station opened its doors. Inspector General Police (IGP) Balochistan Mohsin Hassan Butt opened the facility in the provincial capital.

Balochistan’s first police station dedicated to serving women opened 28 years after the country’s first such facility opened.

On January 25, 1994, late Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto opened Pakistan’s first female police station in Islamabad.

“Keeping in mind the traditional setting of the province, I have been attempting to construct a separate police station for women so that they may lodge their grievances with confidence in a calm environment,” IGP Balochistan remarked during the opening ceremony.

“Women should be free to talk about their problems, and their FIRs should be filed at this police station,” says the author. “All of the police station’s employees, including officers, would be women who would assist in resolving women’s issues under one roof,” Mr Butt explained.
