Balochistan has made the decision to introduce health cards in order to offer three years of free medical care to 1.8 million families throughout the province.
During the provincial cabinet meeting on Friday, the choice was approved. The health cards were given a Rs 5 billion budget in the current fiscal year, and it was agreed to launch the programme right away.
Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo presided over the cabinet meeting, which covered 63 items on the agenda, including the evaluation of the Quetta Safe City Project.
The cabinet members complained about Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), claiming that neither petrol was being delivered to Balochistan nor that PPL was making good on unpaid debts of Rs. 30 billion owed to the Balochistan government.
