Bankers should wear ‘Shalwar Kameez’ , according to Prime Minister Imran Khan

During a ceremony to sanction the Rs 100 billion Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar programme, Prime Minister Imran Khan said he was pleased to note that banks have begun to converse with their customers in Urdu.

“Now that banks are communicating with consumers in Urdu, make the personnel wear shalwar kameez [Pakistan’s national attire]. This would not intimidate the public,” Prime Minister Khan stated.

“There were various impediments previously, such as when an ordinary person went to the bank, they would have uneasiness,” the prime minister remarked, adding, “I see Pakistan now moving in the path it should have been headed in a long time ago.”

The prime minister added that Pakistanis working as labourers in other countries have one dream: to construct a home for themselves and their families. Previous governments had ignored the matter.
