As he landed in Pakistan for the first time, American business giant and Microsoft founder Bill Gates met Prime Minister Imran Khan, among other scheduled appointments.
The PM’s Office posted photos of the meeting on Twitter, and Dr. Faisal Sultan, the Prime Minister’s advisor on Health, welcomed Gates to Pakistan.
According to reports in the local media, the well-known philanthropist arrived at Nur Khan Air Base in the country’s federal capital and was greeted by government authorities.
Gates will also meet with President Dr. Arif Alvi and other senior officials during his brief visit.
A review of Pakistan’s efforts to eradicate the virus will be attended by Bill and Melinda Gates, co-chairman of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a key contributor to global polio eradication.
The world’s fourth wealthiest person also paid a visit to a Covid hospital in Chak Shahzad, a sophisticated suburb of Islamabad.
Later in the day, he is expected to pay a visit to the National Command and Operation Center headquarters.
