Billions of Rupees Wasted on Building Airports at Wrong Locations: Aviation Minister

Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Pakistan’s aviation minister, recently disclosed that billions of rupees were wasted on building airports in inappropriate places, which resulted in minimal passenger flow and financial losses.

According to the Minister, tax dollars were well-spent because these airports were constructed with adequate planning and feasibility assessments.

Before building additional airports, the Minister underlined the value of careful planning and feasibility research. He demanded a complete evaluation of every airport currently in operation to ascertain their feasibility and possibilities for expansion.

The Minister’s statement has raised concerns about the need for more transparency and accountability in the country’s infrastructure development projects.

It emphasises the requirement for more efficient policies and rules to stop wasted spending on unproductive initiatives.
