‘Bismillah’ Found on 195 Million-Year-Old Marble Discovered in Turkey

The markings that appear to form Bismillah, or In the name of Allah, were recently discovered on a marble slab found at a marble quarry in Turkiye’s Mediterranean province of Antalya.

The discovery was made in the Antalya Marble Industry and Trade Company’s marble business region in Taskesigi village, Antalya Korkuteli district.

While the stone was being treated in the quarry, the figure that appeared on it drew the attention of the workers. Workers cleaning the stone spotted a marking that appeared to spell “Bismillah” in Arabic letters.

Suleyman Demirel University in Turkiye’s southeastern Isparta province was then given the task to analyze the slab.

However, scientists Fuzuli Yagmurlu, Rasit Altindag and Nazmi Sengun made an interesting discovery in their analysis.

While 195 million-year-old remains were discovered in the marble, the markings is believed to be natural.
