MG Motors Pakistan has reopened bookings for the HS variant, with a Rs300,000 price increase, bringing the final price to Rs5,749,000.
The increase in CBU prices coincides with the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) decision to investigate the reported under-invoicing crisis that enveloped MG Motors earlier this month.
Prior to the discovery of the under-invoicing issue, MG Motors had stoped the booking process. With the FBR’s due diligence done, MG Motors has not only restarted bookings, but has also raised pricing by 5.5 percent.
The rise coincides with the launch of MG Motors Pakistan’s first locally built unit of the automobile. The company has yet to say if the revised prices will apply to Completely Knocked Down (CKD) units as well.
