EFS Group, a facilities management company based in Dubai, marked the eve of International Workers’ Day 2023 in a unique way.
More than 1,000 senior staff and department heads volunteered to cook Asian and Arabic meals, which were served to over 7,000 frontline and blue-collar co-workers at their accommodations on Sunday.
The celebration was made even more special with melodious music performances by the co-workers at the company’s camp located in Jebel Ali.
The consul-general of India in Dubai and Northern Emirates, Dr Aman Puri, graced the gala dinner and interacted with the front-line workers, who took advantage of the occasion by taking selfies with him.
According to Tariq Chauhan, the Group Chief Executive of EFS, approximately 1,200 staff members and their families helped organise, prepare, and serve the meals.
Furthermore, the managers of EFS served the meal to approximately 300 frontline female workers in Jebel Ali and 2,000 workers in Abu Dhabi at their accommodations.
Among the staff who participated, Sana Ahmed, the business development manager at EFS, prepared a meal consisting of vegetable biryani, potato gravy, and salad for about 20 people. She was aided by her 11-year-old son Aryan and eight-year-old daughter Aisha in serving their co-workers.
