By January 2023, Parliament Aims to Become Paperless: Syed Amin-ul-Haque

Syed Amin-ul-Haque, Pakistan’s Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication, recently stated that all of the country’s legislative proceedings will be paperless by January 2023.

This was mentioned at the ‘Islamabad IT Park’ opening ceremony with South Korean Ambassador Suh Sangpyo, where the Minister stated, “The consultant has been hired to digitalize the Parliament by January 2023. All call attention notices, adjourned motions, attendances, voting, and other business will be conducted online via technology.”

Furthermore, the Minister stated that training for parliamentarians would be provided so that they could become familiar with the technology. In addition, a paperless cabinet meeting was held to emphasize the importance of adopting technological advancements in the new era.
