On Friday the meeting was held, agenda of the in-camera meeting was “Current issues of National Security”, whereby concerns were expressed over the resources that were given to the KP government for anti-terrorist operations and covert negotiations that made it easier for the divided parties to get together.
General Asim Munir, the chief of the Army, called parliamentarians on Friday to concentrate on “our Pakistan” and assured them of the Army’s complete support as it strive to contribute to the development of the country.
“Pakistan is rich to have both resources and manpower”, the army chief said.
he stated that Pakistan’s citizens should decide the country’s destiny and that the army will completely HELP them on their way to growth and prosperity.
The COAS highlighted that the Pakistani people are the “center of gravity” and that their views are reflected in the Pakistani Constitution and the Parliament.
He added that “the Constitution and the Parliament are the means by which the people express their opinion.”
The meeting was attended by Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, as well as the directors general of the ISI and the military operations, the chief secretary of Punjab, and the inspectors general of police from each of the four provinces.
