Changan Pakistan Sold 40,000 Units/Cars in 2 Years

Changan Automobile is a Chinese state-owned automobile manufacturer. In the past two years, Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) has grown to be a significant player in the Pakistani auto industry. According to a formal document, the company sold more than 40,000 devices during the previous two years.

According to the document, MCML has surpassed Toyota, Honda, and Suzuki as the largest manufacturer by volume. Its sales are largely driven by Alsvin and Karvaan. This suggests that it has surpassed Kia Lucky Motor Corporation (KLMC) as the leading new entrant in the auto industry.

While the new year is off to a rocky start, the automaker has been teasing some exciting prospects for the Pakistani car market. With that, MCML’s future is certainly worth looking forward to.

The carmaker is planning to launch 12 brand-new models under the three marques of Changan, Deepal, as well as Avatr, a premium brand co-built by Changan in partnership with Huawei and CATL. The new models are expected to help Changan increase its sales to 2.8 million units this year, up 20% from 2.34 million units in 2022, according to the carmaker.

Market Share

According to details, MCML’s sales are mostly driven by the success of the Karvaan minivan and the Alsvin sedan. The document entails the following breakup of its total market share:

  • Changan Alsvin: 18% B-Sedan Segment Share
  • Changan Oshan X7: 15% C-SUV Segment Share
  • Changan M9 Sherpa: 7% Small Pickup Segment Share
