Chinese companies want to establish a $3.5 billion Reprocessing park in Gwadar

Khalid Mansoor, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), said on Friday that Prime Minister Imran Khan has met with a number of Chinese state-owned and private companies who have expressed an interest in establishing a $3.5 billion reprocessing park in Gwadar and a $350 million textile cluster near Lahore.

Khalid Mansoor, who is going with the PM on his four-day visit to China, told media in Beijing that a consortium of three Chinese enterprises has expressed interest in constructing a metal and paper re-processing park in Gwadar within two to three years.

He said the PM had a “clear dialogue” with personnel from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), who pledged their complete support and dedication to completing the second phase of CPEC on time and on budget.

Mansoor informed the media that the prime minister had been guaranteed that collaborative working groups in ten different sectors would give technological and financial assistance for project implementation.
