Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, introduced the “Chief Minister Roshan Gharana” program, aiming to distribute 50,000 solar systems throughout the province.
During a meeting about solar home solutions, she stressed the urgent need to start installing one-kilowatt solar systems and advised using the latest solar technology.
With a budget of Rs 12.6 billion, the program’s first phase will provide solar systems to 50,000 chosen consumers who use up to 100 units of electricity monthly through a random selection process. These systems will include advanced solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other necessary items.
The meeting was attended by various officials, including Provincial Information Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari, Former Senator Pervaiz Rashid, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning and Development, Secretaries of Energy and Finance, Chief Executive Officer of Punjab Power Development Company (PPDCL), Managing Director of Punjab Power Development Board (PPDB), and others.
During her first speech as Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz shared her vision for the next five years, focusing on creating job opportunities, improving education, and enhancing healthcare services.
