In a significant development, the Sindh government identified 3 billion tonnes of coal resources in the Thar region.
In a statement, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah congratulated the nation on the finding of coal reserves in Tharparkar, calling it the province government’s second-largest success.
“That coal field block-I holds up to 3 billion tonnes of resources, which equates to 5 billion barrels of crude oil,” he stated.
“The coal was discovered this morning after drilling 145 metres in block-I.” It is the Sindh government’s second major accomplishment.”
He noted that an earlier slogan declaring that Thar will improve Pakistan’s fortunes was becoming a reality.
