Commencing Farmers Onboarding in Pakistan: Digitt+ Initiative Takes Off!

Digitt+, a leader in agri-fintech, is proud to announce the commencement of its farmer onboarding program following the recent acquisition of an electronic money institution commercial license from the State Bank of Pakistan. The initiative is starting in Faisalabad, Muzaffargarh, and DI Khan Districts, initially focusing on the sugar cane crop.

Mr. Asghar Akhtar Khan, Chief Corporate Officer of Digitt+, spoke at the farmer onboarding ceremony and said, “Our goal is to empower farmers by ensuring timely financial support, a significant challenge in the agricultural sector. Digitt+ plans to transform the way payments are made by collateralizing agri receipts, ensuring farmers receive instant or near-instant payments, thereby contributing to a more sustainable agricultural economy.”

The program will sequentially extend to different crops, beginning with sugar cane and moving on to potato, maize, cotton and rice. This strategic approach allows for a focused and effective rollout, catering to the unique needs of farmers associated with each crop.

For too long, farmers have grappled with delayed payments, which have impacted their financial stability and their ability to reinvest in their farms. Digitt+ is addressing this problem head-on, streamlining the payment process and introducing a new level of financial inclusivity in the agricultural sector.
“Our approach is simple yet profoundly impactful,” Mr. Khan added. “By harnessing technology and innovative financial models, we are not only supporting farmers but also contributing to the growth of Pakistan’s agricultural industry.”

Digitt+ invites its associated farmers in Faisalabad, Muzaffargarh, and DI Khan to join this transformative program and experience a new standard in agricultural finance. This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to empowering the agricultural community and strengthening Pakistan’s economy.
