After hearing during a law and order meeting that street crimes had decreased by 30% in August, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah instructed on Wednesday to implement a blanket ban on carrying guns in the province.
After being briefed those 350 vehicles had been confiscated recently for carrying armed guards in private vehicles alone in the South zone of Karachi, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah directed to enforce a ban on carrying arms in the province.
A briefing to the chief minister stated, “We have examined the licences of the arms and cars,” as the latter stated, “There is a complete restriction on carrying arms in public, and even guards holding riffles outside homes should be told to remain within.” The chief minister suggested that the police should tell the guards to stay inside their premises.
