The Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, announced that the moon of Dhul-Hijjah has been sighted in Pakistan. People from different cities, including Lahore and Islamabad, reported seeing the moon, and the weather was clear in most areas. This means that the month of Dhul-Hijjah will begin tomorrow, and the religious festival of Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on June 29, Thursday.
To confirm the moon sighting, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee held a meeting in Karachi, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad. Representatives from various departments were present to assist in the process. After gathering testimonies from different committees, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee made the official announcement about the sighting of the moon of Dhul-Hijjah. The Meteorological Department had predicted a good chance of visibility, considering the moon’s age at sunset. However, there was a possibility of partly cloudy weather in some areas.
It’s important to note that the moon of Dhul-Hijjah was also sighted in Saudi Arabia, where the hajj pilgrimage is scheduled for June 27. In Saudi Arabia, Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 28.
