Drop-in Pitches Installed at Perth Stadium Ahead of Pak-Aus Test

The upcoming Test match between Australia and Pakistan is scheduled to be held at the Perth Stadium in Western Australia from December 14 to 18.

What makes this stadium noteworthy is its unique feature of having five drop-in pitches, each weighing approximately 25 tonnes.

These drop-in pitches are carefully constructed using local clay and grass species to replicate the distinctive fast and bouncy playing conditions associated with the WACA Ground, which was known for its challenging pitch.

The process of setting up the playing surface involves using a special cricket wicket transporter to move the drop-in wicket onto the stadium. This method provides a level of adaptability, allowing groundkeepers to tailor the pitch to meet specific playing requirements and conditions.

As the cricketing action unfolds in Perth, the Pakistan cricket team is gearing up for the Test series in Australia. Their journey is set to commence on November 30, as they depart from Lahore to participate in the series.

To guide and support the team during this tour, the coaching staff includes notable figures such as Adam Hollioake and Simon Grant Helmot. Their expertise and strategic insights will play a crucial role in preparing the team for the challenges they will face during the series against Australia.

The anticipation is high as both teams prepare to showcase their skills in this much-awaited Test match at the iconic Perth Stadium.
