To commemorate the Islamic New Year, Dubai residents will enjoy free public parking on Friday, July 21. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) made the announcement, offering a parking fee exemption in honor of the occasion. The parking waiver will apply to all paid zones, excluding multi-level terminals.
Extended Weekend for Public and Private Sector Employees
In observance of the Hijiri New Year 1445, both public and private sector employees in the Emirates will receive a three day weekend, starting on Friday.
Changes in Timings for RTA Services
The RTA has made adjustments to its services in light of the Islamic New Year celebrations. Here are the details:
Customer Happiness Centres and Service Provider Centres
These centers will be closed on Friday, July 21, and will resume operations on Saturday, July 22. However, the smart customer happiness centers at Umm Ramool, Al Kafaf, Deira, Al Barsha, and RTA Head Office will remain open 24/7 as usual.
Dubai Metro and Tram
The Dubai Metro will operate on both the red and green lines from 05:00 am to 01:00 am (of the following day). The Dubai Tram will be operational from 06:00 am to 01:00 am (of the following day).
Public Buses
Public bus services within Dubai will run from 05:00 am to 12:30 am (of the following day). All metro link bus services will be in sync with the metro timetables.
Inter-City Bus Routes
Several inter-city bus routes will be available for commuters, facilitating travel between different cities.
Marine Transport
Water buses, water taxis, and abras will be operational at specific timings to provide transportation across various marine routes.
