According to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan imported mobile phones worth around Rs. 39 billion in July 2026, marking a 3.56% decline compared with the same month last year.
In dollar terms, mobile phone imports stood at $140.435 million in July 2026, down from $145.612 million in July 2025. Imports also recorded a slight decline from the previous month, when they were valued at $141.522 million.
| Period | Mobile Phone Imports |
|---|---|
| July 2026 | Around Rs39.18 billion/ $140.435 million |
| July 2025 | Around Rs40.62 billion/ $145.612 million |
Despite the monthly decline, Pakistan continues to see strong demand for mobile devices. At the same time, the country has been increasing local handset assembly to reduce dependence on fully built imported phones.
Local manufacturers have expanded production in recent years as the government has encouraged domestic assembly and investment in the mobile sector. However, imported smartphones continue to hold an important share of the Pakistani market.
