World Pharmacists Day is observed on September 25 with the aim of promoting and advocating the role of the pharmacist in improving health all over the world and to encourage and promote activities that advocate the role of a pharmacist in improving health across the world.
This year DVAGO also made sure that its pharmacist are celebrated as they are the torch bearers of their thriving pharmacy business who have been acting as the front line warriors since the pandemic with their tireless efforts.
An event was held, attended by prominent names in the field of Pharmacy who shared their thoughts and shed some light upon how pharmacists have been the unsung heroes throughout and especially during the pandemic.
The Dean Faculty of Pharmacy at Karachi University, Prof. Dr. Faiyaz Vaid emphasized on how the face of community pharmacy has changed since DVAGO entered this market space and how people started grasping the whole idea of that a pharmacy is not a pharmacy without a ‘pharmacist.’ He further added that how our spirited pharmacist are living up to the oath that they had taken of serving their people with the great zeal and passion to provide ultimate health care to its community.
In addition to building our pharmacist DVAGO invited The Head of Pharmacy- NICVD, Jibran Bin Yousuf who conducted a CME conference who talked about the practice-changing diagnostic, therapeutic, and supportive care strategies that have entered clinical practice, and many more are poised to enter the field. Moreover he stressed upon there is a significant association between trust in healthcare professionals and health outcomes for patients, which resonates with DVAGO’s ideology.
Sarwat Gillani’s presence added a different aura to the event where she spoke about how amazing it is to see women being empowered in this sector and the way they are carrying themselves and representing themselves in this field possessing great confidence while being poised and elegant. She further added how DVAGO has always been her go-to pharmacy because of the ambiance that it gives to its every customer.
Pharmacy is a diverse and rewarding career, with opportunities for patient care and DVAGO has been creating career opportunities for pharmacists and it has been giving avenues to explore themselves more for years.
This year, the World Pharmacists Day celebration is particularly dedicated in the context of the pandemic that signifies the collaboration of the pharmaceutical workforce with the other healthcare professionals and patients for successfully defeating COVID-19.
