ECAT is now required for all engineering programmes at Punjab University

The entry test given by the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has been declared mandatory for all candidates seeking admission to PU’s BSc engineering programmes.

According to a PU official, the ECAT registration deadline is June 27, and the test will take place from July 5 to 8 in the designated Virtual University facilities.

On the 2-3 July, a 15-minute orientation session will be offered in Virtual University facilities to familiarise candidates with the computer-based admission test.

Candidates who fail to arrive in the designated Virtual University centres for the entry test at the scheduled time will not be authorised to sit in any other centre at any other time.

The representative stated that the entrance exam is required for admission to all Punjabi public engineering institutions and engineering technology institutes.

PU offers regular and self-supporting engineering programmes, including BSc (Engg.) Chemical Engineering (with Specialization in Petroleum & Gas Technology) and BSc (Engg.) Metallurgy & Materials Engineering, which are both approved by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). BSc (Engg.) Electrical Engineering, BSc (Engg.) Industrial Engineering and Management, and BSc Energy and Environmental Engineering.
