The Punjab administration has decided to place a ban on the sale of Euro-2 fuel in Lahore during the current haze season in order to reduce the city’s unacceptably high levels of pollution.
From next month, only Euro-5 gasoline products will be allowed for sale in Lahore, according to Punjab Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht.
He asked Lahore division commissioner to ensure delivery of only high-quality fuel in the city while presiding over an anti-smog committee meeting at the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) head office on Tuesday.
He also told concerned officials to ask Euro-2 gasoline producers to improve their equipment.
