Riina Kionka, the new ambassador of the European Union assumed her responsibility in Pakistan. She played the national anthem on trumpet.
Recently, such unique way to mark 14 August was shared through a special campaign on social media.
As per the information by the European Union delegation, the union is devoted towards making a stable, democratic and pluralistic country that respects human rights and benefits. Collaboration between Pakistan and European Union is established in the Strategic Engagement Plan (SEP) signed in 2019.
SEP include peace and security, democracy, rule of law, human rights, migration and other sectors such as energy, climate change and science and technology.
Since 2014, European Union is one of the Pakistan’s largest trading other significant and has support Pakistan’s integration in to global economy and its sustainable economic development, by granting it preferential access to the European single market under the GSP+ system.
PM has been called on by ambassador Kionka stating that EU and Pakistan’s relation has high importance as well as its historically close and cooperative bilateral ties with EU member states.
Remembering his recent telephonic conversation with the EU Council President Charles Michel and president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, PM showed confidence in coming visits of EU’s parliamentary delegations as well as the next rounds of political and security dialogues under EU-Pakistan Strategic Engagement Plan.
He further expressed his hopes that Pakistan would carry on to be the part of arrangement beyond 2023. Moreover, shared the recent GSP Plus scheme enhancing the mutually beneficial trading ties between Pakistan and EU.
