Ex PM Nawaz Sharif Departs For Medical Treatment To Singapore

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif left Pakistan on Monday for a four-day visit to Singapore and China. He departed from Lahore on a special aircraft, according to reports published on August 31.

Nawaz Sharif is travelling with his sons, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz. PML-N leader Chaudhry Raheel Munir and his personal physician, Dr. Adnan, are also part of the group.

Reports describe the trip as a private visit. Sharif is expected to spend a short period in Singapore before travelling onward to China. His departure comes amid reports linking the trip to medical care, although the latest reports do not provide specific details about any treatment or medical procedure planned in Singapore.

Before leaving, Nawaz Sharif also met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the airport. The prime minister reportedly sought his guidance on his upcoming visit to Kyrgyzstan.

Sharif has previously travelled abroad for medical treatment, including a stay in London.
