FBR Rejects Proposal of IMF for Additional Taxes of Rs.176 Billion for Salaried People

According to the sources, the Government of Pakistan has opposed a proposal by the IMF- International Monetary Fund for additional Rs.176 billion taxes of tax revenue from the salaried individuals in the budget for this fiscal year of 2021-2022.

However, it has been reported that various tax rates are right under consideration in order to boost the salary income tax collection just from the existing Rs.129 billion to Rs.305 billion.

As per the officials, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan has met with the officials of IMF and has also asked the fund to even soften the conditions on the energy prices as well as taxes especially in the domains of health, education, and the agriculture sectors of Pakistan.
